The history of Oldrids & Downtown stores began over 200 years ago, in 1804, in Lincolnshire, in the UK. It all started when John Oldrid and Richard Hyde purchased a small retail unit. Today, Oldrids & Downtown has stores across the county, helping customers find the perfect products for their homes and gardens. It offers a wide range of products, including furniture (living and dining rooms, bedroom, home office, conservatory), sofas and chairs, beds and mattresses, homeware and home accessories, electrical, toys, and more. It even offers beauty products from top brands, such as L'Occitane, Moschino, YSL, CLARINS, Armani, Versace, and many others, as well.

Oldrids & Downtown payment options

When placing your order online, you can use your PayPal account or your credit/debit card (Visa, MasterCard, Maestro, Solo) to pay for your order. If the products are available immediately or in less than 30 days, you'll be charged immediately, while for purchases that will take longer than 30 days, you can make a 20% deposit on your order. The deposit will be released once the goods have been ordered.

Are there finance options available?

Oldrids & Downtown offers both Interest Bearing and Interest Free Credit. Interest Bearing is available when you spend at least £400, while Interest Free Credit is offered on orders of £550 or more.

To be eligible to apply for finance, you must be 18 years or older and a resident of the UK (and must've lived there for at least the last three years). You must be employed (and work at least 16 hours a week) or retired with an income. If you're a homemaker, you can apply under your own name but the employment details of your spouse will be required.

Oldrids & Downtown delivery options

Oldrids & Downtown offers several delivery options, depending on the size and contents of your order. Delivery is available only to mainland UK addresses. 

Standard Delivery for Small Items - Items that weigh less than 30kg or are less than 2m in length will be delivered by Parcelforce. The service is free on orders over £50, while for orders under £50 you'll have to pay a £4 shipping fee. You can expect your order within 3 to 5 working days between 9 am and 5 pm.

4 Hour Window Furniture & Large Item Delivery - Furniture and other large items (more than 30kg) are delivered free of charge to mainland UK addresses as long as your order is £2999 or more. If your order is under £2999 or, you'll be charged £19. Orders are delivered to your room of choice.

Major Appliance Delivery - This service is available to major appliances (fridges, freezers, washing machines, tumble dryers, and dishwashers) and to some postcodes, only. For orders under £400, you'll be charged £9.50, while orders over £400 are delivered free of charge. Installation on selected appliances, as well as the uplift and disposal of existing appliances are available for a small surcharge (£ for the installation and £10 for the disposal).

Oldrids & Downtown refunds & returns

If for any reason, you'd want to return any of the products, you can do it within 28 days of the receipt. All products you're returning must be in a saleable condition, including all packaging. The costs of returning the order are at your expense. Oldrids & Downtown can organise a collection for the products you'd want to return. You'll be charged the actual collection charge or £10 (whichever is higher) for non-furniture products, and the actual collection charge or £50 (whichever is higher) for furniture. If the item is faulty or damaged, Oldrids & Downtown will cover the cost of the return.
