About Costa Coffee Club
With nearly 50 years of experience crafting the finest quality coffee, Costa Coffee has grown to be the UK's favourite coffee shop. It all started in 1971 when two brothers, Sergio and Bruno, arrived in London and set up a small roastery in Fenchurch Street. They blind-tested over 100 variations of coffee before they found the one good enough to be their signature blend. It was named ‘Mocha Italia’ and it's still their signature blend. In 1978, they opened a brand-new roastery in South London, where it remained until 2017. Before opening the first Costa Coffee shop (in Vauxhall Bridge Road in 1981), Costa Coffee sold its coffee beans to prestigious hotels across London.
Costa Coffee nutrition and wellbeing
Costa Coffee is committed to providing healthier choices and tends to improve the nutritional balance of its menu not only by introducing healthier alternatives but by reviewing its portion sizes, as well. While only 1/3 of Costa Coffee drinks contains added sugar, they are still looking to sugar reduction. As a member of the Out of Home Food and Drink Alliance, Costa Coffee is actively engaged with the Department of Health and Public Health England and supports their sugar, salt, and calorie reduction programmes. To make your drink lighter, you can request skimmed or soy milk, choose one of the sugar-free syrups, downsize your order, cut out the cream, and choose stevia instead granulated sugar.
